Regional Committees

Community Volunteer Activities

Our family moved to Redmond in the spring of 1993 to be close to my new job at Safeco Insurance Company. Having spent the previous 10 years in the US Air Force, putting down roots in a community and having our children grow up in a stable environment was our goal. Redmond is such a community. In 2007, I was honored to be elected to the City Council, where I have served on a variety of regional and internal City committees, as well as being Council President for four years. I have been involved in the community in a variety of ways besides the City Council, volunteering on the Board of Eastside Timebank. Collecting food for Hopelink, participating in the annual overnight homeless count, interacting with residents of all ages at the Redmond City Council Derby Day’s booth, coaching youth soccer and baseball, and walking 60 miles to help find a cure for breast cancer. When I am not working on City business, in my free time you can find me umpiring local baseball games, cheering on the Sounders and Seahawks, enjoying time with my wife and adult children, and playing with my grandson.
